Update from La Jicarita Cluster

On Monday February 19, La Jicarita Cluster met and decided to reorganize ourselves! Reflecting what our priorities of the last few years, we will gather annually for support, fellowship, and solidarity, including celebrations of the Northern New Mexican culture that has shaped us. This means that by June 30, the Cluster will disburse its remaining funds and end our time as a voting body with gratitude for the service of the Moderator and Treasurer. 

The Cluster will have a standing Annual Gathering of all its churches for a meal and worship on the 3rd Saturday of September. Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, of Peñasco will host our first Annual Gathering on Saturday, September 20th Please put this on your calendar! More information about time and food will follow. The host church of the next year’s Gathering will be decided at the current Gathering.

La Jicarita Cluster has long supported Camp Loma Verde. We have asked their board to provide Cluster congregations and Sessions with proposals for capital improvements of the camp. Following receipt of those proposals, Sessions will be invited to vote to disburse the remaining Cluster funds to the board of the Camp for those capital improvements. Additional support, either financial or time, will be determined by individual congregations.
