Rev. Madeline Hart-Andersen
Madeline grew up as a preacher's kid in San Francisco and Minneapolis, deeply embedded in both congregations. She attended Grinnell College in IA, with a B.A. in Mathematics and Anthropology, and served in Logan, UT as an AmeriCorps Vista Volunteer. She received her M.Div at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
In November of 2020, Madeline began her called ministry here at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Santa Fe. In addition to her work at Westminster, she serves on the Commission on Ministry of the Presbytery of Santa Fe, and is a member of the Interfaith Leadership Alliance. She also serves on the board of the Presbyterian Historical Society.
Madeline lives on the south-side of Santa Fe with her kiddo, and enjoys knitting, hiking, and quiet mornings with a cup of tea.

PART-TIME OFFICE ASSISTANT
(16-20 hours per week)
Founded in 1893, Westminster Presbyterian Church provides purposeful, mission-oriented action and advocacy for peace and justice; shares a variety of worship, study, and spiritually nurturing experiences; and welcomes and reaches out to all cultures, age groups, and populations. We are a little church with a big heart, and we are seeking a part-time office assistant to support the work of our church.
Description of Position
The Part-Time Office Assistant of Westminster Presbyterian Church manages the office of the church in cooperation with and under the supervision of the pastor and the church’s Personnel Committee. The person in this position handles all duties assigned below and those occasional additional duties necessary to the running of the church, as assigned by the Pastor.
To avoid conflicts of interest, we ask that applicants not be members of Westminster.
WPC is a non-smoking facility.
This is a part-time position: 16-20 hours per week. The only benefit is paid sick leave.
Minimum Qualifications and Characteristics
A collaborative and cooperative spirit
Familiarity with worship services and willingness to support mission of the Church
Reliable, conscientious, self-starter
Secretarial and administrative office experience
Ability to use basic software and computer programs (MS Office and Google suite) and willingness to learn other software (including church database software and Mailchimp)
Experience in writing and editing in traditional and online platforms
Effective communication skills
Good organizational skills, including maintaining a neat and efficient workspace
High school graduate or equivalent
Ability to work with and take direction from volunteers
Basic knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting practices preferred but not necessary
Responsibilities
Communication
Write, edit, and publish church communications in traditional and online formats:
Worship bulletins for weekly and special services held by the church
Special bulletins, such as for weddings or funerals
Weekly electronic newsletter
Collaborate with the Session and Pastor to manage online content includingm but not limited to, setting up Zoom meetings, Facebook, and uploading to social media
2. Manage the church calendar
Clerical and Administrative
1. Publish any special notifications to the congregation as requested by the Pastor, Session, Clerk, or Deacon Board or committees
2. Represent the church to the public when people come through our doors
3. Order office and other supplies as needed or requested (with attention to budget)
4. Manage printer supplies and maintenance
5. Retrieve mail from mailbox and P.O Box and distribute
6. Establish and maintain a filing record system of all electronic and paper official documents
7. Update and maintain the church directory and other print and electronic contact lists
8. Schedule and coordinate vendor and service calls, as requested, and forward all invoices to Treasurer
9. Answer mail and email, phone calls, voicemail, etc.
10. Organize books and papers in pews
11. Place Westminster’s worship information in the Santa Fe New Mexican as needed
Financial
1. Print checks for signature as requested by the Treasurer
2. Track purchases and submit monthly expense reports to Treasurer
3. Collect timesheets from contractors and submit to appropriate committee chair for approval and submit to Treasurer
Other duties as assigned.
