Leadership and You!

Greetings again, from the Nominating Committee! We'd like to share more about the available leadership opportunities at Westminster in 2026.

You and the Mission of WPC

The practical reality is that no organization can function without leadership to strategize, define, articulate, and execute its missions and goals. While this sounds daunting, it is not. Our Polity is defined so that many hands make light work. Leadership is something you can do in the Presbyterian Church. As a Ruling Elder, you have fellow Ruling Elders to share the load, and Members to help do the work. As a Deacon, you have fellow Deacons and Members there to assist. As a member of the Nominating Committee, the division of labor makes for a light lift. These are things you can do.

The Community Begins with You

Where do you draw your inspiration? What inspires you to give of your time and talents? As a people, the congregation of WPC draws its inspiration from its community and the world. We are a living church living in a world full of need and we want to make a difference. We want WPC to live and continue making a difference. If the way we show God’s ministry in the community inspires you, consider being a leader in our congregation. Consider how you will make a difference so the work we do will continue into the future.

Share Your Gratefulness

Gratitude comes from many places. We are grateful to our Creator, grateful for the freedom to worship, and grateful for the connections with each other. How will you choose to express that gratitude? One way is to repay and pay forward in response to what we’ve received. Another way is to share in the leadership of our Church community.

So What Will You Do?

Over the next couple of months, please pray for WPC’s leadership. Pray for the current and future leadership. Prayerfully consider your personal discernment and consider serving as a leader at WPC. Take time to reflect, meditate and pray for guidance. Consider your gifts, your circumstances, and where you feel called to help. The church has open leadership positions—Ruling Elders, Deacons, and Nominating Committee—please take time to reflect and pray about whether you feel called to a leadership position at WPC.

If you think you might be interested in leadership, or just exploring the possibility of serving, please reach out to any of the Nominating Committee: Grace Nadell, Nancy Guthrie, Jim Williams, Alan Tway, or Pastor Madeline. Yours In Christ!
