Grateful Bread groups to shuffle
As we approach the end of the calendar year, we will also be approaching the end of the current Grateful Bread group structure. Formed last April, over thirty participants were divided into four groups, and most have met almost every month since then.
Some groups met in homes, others in restaurants; some met for breakfast, some for lunch, others for dinner. Some met during the week while others met on the weekend. In some groups the members shared stories of their upbringing, how they met their spouse, and details about their kids and grandkids, parents and pets. Some members talked about their jobs and careers or their interests and hobbies; some members talked about current events or future travel plans. And after having met once or twice, a couple groups used question cards to stimulate conversation and probe a little deeper.
It is safe to say that through our monthly gatherings, each of us has gotten to know the members in our group much better. And many of the details that have been shared with each other will long be remembered.
The Evangelism & Outreach Committee will soon be shuffling the Grateful Bread members and forming new groups to kick off 2026. If you were not part of a group but would like to be in one of the new groups, please let Susanne know at susanne.g.hinkle@gmail.com. If you are currently in a group but would like to take a break for a few months, let her know that, too. The new groups will be announced in December.
